To help you plan a comfortable and relaxing stay, here are a few important details.
Reservations
- Confirmation is subject to 100% advance payment.
- Payment can be made via bank transfer or cash.
- We are currently unable to accept credit card payments.
- As we have only three guest rooms, advance reservations are essential and walk-in bookings are not available.

Enjoy the Quiet
One of the things our guests value most is the peace and tranquility of The Calm Cottages. We kindly request all guests to help us preserve this atmosphere by keeping noise to a minimum and avoiding parties, loud music, or late-night gatherings.
Cancellation & Early Departure
As a small, three-room mountain retreat, last-minute cancellations and shortened stays are difficult to refill. Therefore, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations, early departures, weather-related changes, or personal emergencies.
Driver/ Domestic Help Accommodation
Limited accommodation for drivers is available outside the main retreat on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us in advance to check availability and applicable charges.
If you’re travelling with a domestic attendant, accommodation can be arranged in your room on applicable extra-bed charges. Please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Dining
At The Calm Cottages, every meal is freshly prepared with care using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, including produce from our own kitchen garden. We also love introducing our guests to authentic Kumaoni flavours.
To ensure every meal is fresh and thoughtfully prepared, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a set menu in our dining room. We do not offer an à la carte menu or room service, except for snacks that may be ordered separately.
Meal Timings
- Breakfast: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
- Lunch: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
- Dinner: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Our kitchen team is available from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. As they travel back to their village each evening, we encourage guests to follow the meal timings. Whenever possible, we’ll always do our best to accommodate special requests.

Cancellation Policy
As The Calm Cottages is an intimate three-room mountain retreat, last-minute cancellations are often difficult to accommodate. We therefore request our guests to kindly note the following cancellation policy:
- More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund
- 21–30 days before arrival: 75% refund
- 15–21 days before arrival: 50% refund
- Less than 15 days before arrival: No refund
Refunds are not applicable for no-shows, early departures, road closures, adverse weather conditions, transport disruptions, accidents, or changes to travel plans due to personal or family circumstances.
